The RM100,000 Charity Cup (Race 5) over 1400m will highlight the ten race card at Perak Turf Club this Sunday. Four of the eleven runners contested the G1 Coronation Cup three weeks ago including eventual winner GOOD FIGHT (2), who will be chasing his third feature in a row. The 6yo is currently racing in career best form and drops back to a distance where he’s tasted success on four occasions from nine starts. Also emanating from the Coronation Cup are locally trained gallopers, CHINA CAPTAIN (3) and TEOCHEW KID (4) who finished 5th and 7th respectively in the Group One contest. Both horses attracted huge support to eventually head the betting markets and will derive benefit from their respective performances at the top level. The highest rated runner in the lineup, BIG DOCTOR (1) has been sparingly raced this year with a handy record of four wins from eight starts. The 7yo races best if he can obtain the early lead and looks a genuine chance despite carrying the 59kg second up from a spell. ANSU (5) is a recent Class 3 winner and a progressive type capable of striking at this level. The interesting runner is former New Zealander SPRINT RAMPAGE (11), which resumes for the HY Cheng stable. The 5yo has not raced since winning at Awapuni in September last year and a forward showing would not surprise judging by his recent trial.
